Chhattisgarh chief minister Raman Singh''s chopper made an emergency landing here today due to inclement weather, district authorities said. The helicopter was carrying the chief minister to Kansabel in Jashpur district from Raipur this afternoon. However, owing to heavy rains, the chopper could not land in Kansabel and had to make an emergency landing at Jindal air strip in Raigarh, they said. Singh was on his way to Kansabel to attend a workshop organised by BJP.
Officials said that Rajya Sabha MP Nand Kumar Sai, former legislator of Malkharoda, Nirmal Sinha and others were also accompanying him in the chopper. After an hour-long halt at the Jindal industrial area here, the chief minister cancelled his Kansabel tour and returned to Raipur.
