Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh and State Agriculture Minister Mr. Brijmohan Agrawal today congratulated the agriculture scientists and officers-employees of the Krishi Vignan Kendras of Naxalites' -affected Dantewada and Kanker districts for bagging the national-level prestigious awards. It may be mentioned here that Krishi Vignanik Kendra Dantewada has bagged the National award for the Best Krishi Vignan Kendra in the entire country. Meanwhile, Kanker Krishi Vignan Kendra has been awarded the Atal Rashtriya Krishi Vignan Protsahan Puraskar. Mr. Brijmohan Agrawal met Indira Gandhi Agriculture University Vice-Chancellor Dr. S. K. Patil and representatives of the two Krishi Vignan Kendras and informed them and congratulated the officials on this spectacular developments. The Kendras had made Chhattisgarh State proud.
Dantewada Krishi Vignan Kendra scientists said that farmers are being guided in community farming. The Kendra had done immense contribution in the field of organic farming. Apart from organic farming, the farmers are into mushroom and 'Span' fish production units, minor paddy crops. Union Agriculture Minister Mr. Radhamohan Singh had distributed the Best performing Dantewada Krishi Vignan Kendra award in New Delhi last week. Kanker Krishi Vignan Kendra has bagged the Atal National Agriculture Encouragement Award a (Atal Rashtriya Krishi Vignan Protsahan Puraskar) for adopting high-quality farming methods in paddy production and pulses, oil seeds production.
